“Be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:1

Sisters in Christ,

Greetings! We are so excited to invite you to the MCCW European Regional Retreat: Strengthened by Grace. This 3-night, 4-day retreat will be held at the beautiful Hotel Villa EUR Parco dei Pini in Rome, Italy. We look forward to leaving behind the distractions of life and experiencing God’s precious Grace together. You can expect to spend time in reflection and meditation through Adoration, Confession, Mass, spiritual direction, and many forms of personal and group prayer. You will hear and participate in talks with some wonderful AMS clergy, MCCW Worldwide Leadership and guest speakers. We are thrilled to have as a very special guest speaker, Mary Lenaburg.

We hope you can make it!

Amber Humphreys and the Grace Team

European Regional Coordinator, MCCW

Full details are available on our EventBrite link including logistics, cost, what’s included and more:

If you are a female, 18 and older, AND affiliated with the military (all branches-active, guard, reserve, dependent, retired, DoDEA, contractor) – we would be honored to have you attend this retreat! Please note: You do not need to be a leader in your community, involved in a CWOC or even Catholic – just respectful and open to learning. We have women who attend from installations where there is not an active CWOC and we would be happy to have you!  We are hoping for representation from across the European region!

About the Retreat Center

Hotel Villa Eur is located in the EUR district in Rome, the residential and business district built during the 1930s be the site of the Universal Exposition, which was planned to be held in Rome in 1942. Sadly this event never occurred due to the war and the building was vacant for many year. In 1998, the area of the building hosting the International College “Jesus Magister” underwent major restoration works to be turned into a ‘not-for-profit’ group accommodation to host the pilgrims coming to Rome for the Jubilee in 2000. For about 10 years, the accommodation was managed by the Marist Brothers and has recently been turned into an exclusive hotel with 91 rooms, located at the center of the EUR business district and managed by hospitality experts and professionals.

The hotel offers an indoor chapel and a sunroom for quiet reflection and prayer. Peace and joy abound.

Please visit their website to learn more.

The Hotel Villa EUR is located Piazzale Marcellino Champagnat 2, Roma. Further details and directions will be provided after registration. Transportation is not included in the ticket price.

Recommended Attire

Please dress comfortably but with a spirit of respect for the spiritual nature of the retreat weekend. It is mild in Rome in the fall. Anticipate mid 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. You will need semi-formal attire for the banquet dinner on Saturday evening. There will be early morning prayer times offered, so you may like to bring something comfortable to wake-up in.

We will have discernment for the MCCW European regional board. Here is a link of available positions and a contact sheet for you to review. More information will be provided to attendees before and during the retreat regarding discernment and open positions. Currently, the Regional Communications Coordinator and Regional Coordinator positions will be discerned at the retreat.
