From the Central Region
It’s been a good season for us, as we’re all still reminiscing over the February 2017 MCCW retreat at Conception Abby in Conception, Missouri, which was titled “Listen and open your the ear to your heart”. It was truly an overwhelmingly blessed and peaceful time for us all. We visited with the seminarians and even adopted three seminarians that we remain in contact with. During the retreat we were given the opportunity to visit the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Monastery just a few miles down the road from the seminary. This was a wonderful experience as we viewed and combed through their archives of breathtaking artifact collections.
Back south in May, we took time to enjoy the surrounding local area and what it has to offer to include a tour of one of the many missions in San Antonio, San Jose Mission with its lovely grounds and history. Then completing out this festive day in the El Mercado (the market square) which was simply a delight!
Traveling a bit further on another tour in June, we find ourselves in Kerrville, Texas at the “Coming King Sculpture ” prayer garden which is where the “Empty Cross Garden” is located. The ladies really embraced and enjoyed this experience as it’s located off of the highway and up a mountainous hill. Once there, we found ourselves in a wonderful meditative state with the Holy Spirit in all of the natural beauty and scenic views.
Next an amazing group of hundreds of women came together in San Antonio for the Catholic Women’s Conference towards the end of July, which we attended, titled “Come for Me”. The messages delivered were by various authors and it was a treat to hear from each of them.
Upcoming for us is the “Fullness of Truth” conference starting on the 25th through 27th of August in San Antonio.
We would like to welcome with open arms and great joy, Janet Ellis Grider to JBSA Randolph!
Your sister in Christ,
