Answering the Call – How Can I Help?

[av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=” admin_preview_bg=”] As we prepare to gather in San Diego, I challenge you to pray for vocations to the priesthood. Plant a mustard seed and see where it may be sown – ask young men to discern the vocation and answer the call. A highlight of our time together at Forum 2018 will be attending A Taste of Mission. During our pilgrimage to the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá, we will tour the mission church, participate in adoration and confession, and celebrate mass. Together, with adopted seminarians, fervent prayers, and love we will grow military chaplains for our future brothers and sisters who serve our beautiful country.

Over the past two years, MCCW members have generously donated to the AMS Co-Sponsored Seminarian Program. To all who have already donated, over the past two years, including individuals and chapels, a heart-felt thank you to each and every one of you! If you wish to support our designated charity, an online pledge site has been established for your convenience. Donations may be made as a one-time donation and/or as a monthly recurring donation. Visit www.mccw.org/giving/seminarian-support to learn more.

With a grateful and joyful heart, I ask you to join me in celebrating two priestly ordinations. Answering the call to serve as military chaplains, both Father Samuel Schneider and Father Rene Pellessier were recently ordained. Both of these men will complete three years of service in their home dioceses, and then, God-willing, become Navy Chaplains. How blessed are we to know our prayers, love, and support have been present and shared throughout the journey for these young men – as seminarians, deacons, and now as priests for the AMS!
