Pray, Fast, Give
During Lent, we devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture, to service by giving alms, and to practice self-control through fasting. In a tangible way, our Church begs us to renew the tradition of the first Christians: “They devoted themselves to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread, and to the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
MCCW is working throughout Lent to make the final preparations for the biennial MCCW Forum, which will gather nearly 250 women and AMS clergy in San Antonio for a weekend of spiritual talks, liturgies, reconciliation, adoration, and fellowship. The forum theme is “Fiat – Behold I am the Handmaid of the Lord.” We are offering this work as part of our Lenten practice.
Additionally, MCCW is praying daily for the Archdiocese for the Military Services’ co-sponsored seminarians. Using the calendar below, we are praying for seminarians by name with confidence that the Holy Spirit will guide these men in their vocation to the priesthood, and in the vocation within their vocation to serve as a military chaplain.
Your tax-deductible gift will support MCCW’s work at the upcoming Forum and our preparation for seven regional retreats, which will take place in the next twelve months in Poland, Korea, Hawaii, and four locations throughout the continental United States.
Your gift of any size helps us to continue in our mission to connect, unite, and inspire U.S. military-affiliated women as they grow in their faith. Thank you for your continued prayers for MCCW and for your generosity.
Yours in Christ,
Kim Miller
MCCW President, 2018-2020
