President’s Message – June 2022
Your new Worldwide board has been busy at work since Forum as we transition roles and begin planning for our next fiscal year. However, the excitement of potential plans and the energy of new board members is juxtaposed with saying goodbye to longtime volunteers and the bittersweet letdown of leaving our in-person time in Tampa and returning to our homes–many of us to begin the ritual of PCS season.
My packers came the week after Forum, and we are still digging out from all the boxes after our 24th military move. An empty house always makes me think about the challenges this military life requires. We have to reinvent ourselves over and over and find our tribe again and again after each relocation. It’s like the saying, “bloom where you are planted.” Our successful stretch to the sun depends so much on those with whom we surround ourselves and whether we focus on stretching ourselves to the Son.
I pray that during this summer season of transition and change you will find your anchor in Him. God has a wonderful purpose for you in each new setting. Trust in His plan even when you cannot yet see it. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your heart as you seek new friendships, a chapel home, and find your place in our transient, always-changing military community.
Right now, MCCW’s leadership team is leaning into the concept of revival–the revival of our hearts, spirits, and friendships around the world. We ask you to pray with us for God to reveal to each of us our unique gifts and roles in the mosaic of our faith community. You are a valuable, worthy daughter of Christ and we look forward to journeying with you as we deepen our trust in God and support each other in seeking His will for our lives.
Blessings,
Bevin
