Come Be Part of Our Team

It feels a little like we are always discerning new leaders for MCCW. And if that is the case, it is because we are! This ministry, the women’s ministry of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, doesn’t happen on its own. Nearly forty committed volunteers around the world do the planning, praying, and processing that make it possible for us to connect, unite, and inspire thousands of women every day, month, and year.

The process of recruiting new leaders for such a wide-reaching organization doesn’t happen at just one time, in one place – it is ongoing. This is why you hear so much from us about discernment – that prayerful process we should all be using to understand where God is calling us next in life.

In April, we will have five positions on our Worldwide Board available and we pray that many women are actively praying about how they might be called to fill one of those roles. Serving on MCCW’s Worldwide Board is a big commitment, to be sure, but it is also some of the most satisfying work you can do.

We touch thousands of military women and through them, families and entire chapel or military communities, with our resources, our online community, and our events. And we grow personally in our faith and in our relationship with Christ by being surrounded by other faith-filled Catholic women. We also use and develop skills and gifts for the benefit of the Church in ways that grow our resumes for future opportunities.

Our team has space for all military-connected women: Active Duty, Dependent, National Guard, Reserve, Retiree.

There is room at the table for you!

If this sounds like an experience you want, please:

  • Take this to prayer over the coming weeks. We have an easy-to-use guide to prayer that will lead you through this personal discernment process – you can download it here
  • Reach out to the current board members to find out more about our experience leading and loving MCCW. You can find our contact information here
  • Read the descriptions of the open positions here. President, Director of Forum, Director of Stewardship, and Director-at-Large 1 will be open in April for standard two-year terms. The Director of Finance position will be open for a special one-year term.
  • Complete the Servant Leader Information Form (pages two and three of the discernment packet) and send it to discernment@mccw.org. Someone from MCCW will reach out to you to let you know we have your packet and see how we can walk with you during your process of discernment.
  • Plan to join us for the group discernment process on Friday, Apr. 22 at 5:45 p.m. EST. Though the group discernment will physically take place in Tampa at Forum 2022, you do not have to be physically present to discern one of the open positions. Information on how to join the group discernment process virtually will be provided in April.
