For more than 60 years, MCCW has been led by dedicated volunteers – caring, generous military-affiliated women who have given their time, talent, and treasure to help their sisters in Christ grow in their Catholic faith.
For more than 60 years, MCCW has been led by dedicated volunteers – caring, generous military-affiliated women who have given their time, talent, and treasure to help their sisters in Christ grow in their Catholic faith.
This continues today with talented teams working at the Worldwide and Regional levels to produce MCCW programs, events, and resources.
MCCW Awards
A Legacy of Service
Many remarkable women have served MCCW and the women of the Archdiocese for the Military Services during MCCW’s more-than-60-year history. The Sheila Baker and MaryAnn Ernst Awards were created to honor the legacy of two very special women and recognize the contributions made by women in the organization today. The St. Joan of Arc and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Awards, developed in 2024, honor young women, ages 18-39, who make a difference in the wider military community or in their local chapel. Nominations are taken every two years and the recipients are announced at MCCW’s Worldwide Forum.
Discernment
MCCW uses discernment, a prayerful way of making decisions, as its method for selecting its new leaders.
MCCW discernment is done in two parts: a personal discernment process that gives a possible servant leader a guide to praying and talking with God about the decision; and a group prayer service during which potential leaders share their gifts and talents and new leaders are selected.
So that MCCW can continue to connect, unite, and inspire military women worldwide in the best way, MCCW discernment happens on a rolling, staggered schedule. There is always an opportunity to answer the call to serve.
