A New Travel Companion
Do you have summer travel plans?
Are you preparing to PCS, and travel across the States – or, even the world?
We all know the struggles of moving, and sometimes even “simple” vacations lead us to wishing we had a lifeline to connect with as we wait in terminals, drive hours in the car, and listen to the repeated family-favorite song for the two-hundredth time in a row. Prayer is a lifeline – a sanity check, at times. Connecting with other Catholic, military-affiliated women, who share the highs (and the lows) of travel is of utmost importance!
This summer, take along MCCW “Flat Mary” with you on your journey, snap a picture, and tag our social media so that we have the opportunity to celebrate your travels, and to join you in prayer.
This simple, fun activity is best printed on card stock, and is designed for you to personalize your “Mother Mary,” so that some of your personality can shine through in this small way of evangelization. This would even make a great chapel-group activity to share in closed Facebook groups, regional MCCW groups, and our Worldwide Facebook community.
You are also encouraged to make this a family-adventure! Sometimes, our own kiddos can serve as the most enthusiastic evangelists, as they travel across a state-line, excited to snap a “state-line picture” with “Flat Mother Mary.” She also serves as a possible conversation starter as she waits with you to board a plane, or as you watch people find their designated seats on the train, plane, or bus.
The only commitment we ask of our MCCW-Worldwide Sisters in Christ is, when you see someone share a “Flat Mother Mary,” that a Hail Mary is offered for the woman posting the picture. This way, no matter where your travel takes you, you are still covered in prayer when you post the picture.
This is a cute, convenient, unobtrusive way for all of us to CONNECT, UNITE, and INSPIRE each other with a little prayer, some smiles, virtual hugs, and lots of love.
Who’s ready for the summer travels?
